The Full form of LLM is Legum Magister. It is a Latin term which specifies the master degree of Law. LLM is commonly known as Master of Law. It is generally confusing to see double L (LL) in LLM. It is considered normally that both of the L specifies different thing, but in Latin plural form of the word is abbreviated by repeating the letter. Here, LL (double L) specifies Legum which is the possessive plural form of Latin word Lex, which means “specific laws”. LLM is a recognized post graduate degree in the field of Law internationally.

It is offered by many countries in the world. The minimum educational qualification required getting admission in LLM is that, the candidate must have completed the bachelor degree in law. i.e. LL.B. There are different fields of Specialization in LLM which are; Human Rights, Insurance, Environmental Issues, Financial Services, Bankruptcy, Commercial and Corporate, Information Technology, Property law and many more.
