GIF Full Form
The Full form of GIF is Graphics Interchange Format. GIF is a bitmap image format that was developed by a team at the bulletin board service (BBS) provider CompuServe led by American computer scientist Steve Wilhite on June 15, 1987. GIF is a chain of various bitmap files in order to create one animated picture. It is an 8 bit format which means the maximum number of colours supported by the format is 256. There are two GIF standards, 87a and 89a. In every pixel, it comprises one colour out of two hundred and fifty-six in a GIF image. GIFs are small and compact in size and you can share them easily on any platform. GIF is a dynamic image which is just like video without any sound. It’s like an iPhone’s live picture. It is a small video clip which replays itself until we stop it.
