HDFC Full Form

 

The Full form of HDFC is Housing Development Finance Corporation. Headquartered in Mumbai (Maharashtra), HDFC Bank Limited is an Indian banking and financial services company. Incorporated in 1994, HDFC is a renowned housing finance corporation of India which mainly provides housing loans to low and middle-class people to buy house and builders for the residential projects.

Its primary objective is to improve the residential housing stock through the provision of Housing Finance in a systematic way and to enhance home ownership in the country. The Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) was amongst the first to receive an ‘In Principle’ approval from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to set up a bank in the private sector, as part of the RBI’s liberalization of the Indian Banking Industry in 1994.

HDFC Bank is India’s largest private sector lender by assets. It is the largest bank in India by market capitalization as of February 2016. It has 88,253 permanent employees as on 31 March 2018 and an enviable network of over 1416 branches spread over 550 cities across India. All branches are linked on an online real–time basis. The Bank also has a network of about over 3382 networked ATMs across these cities.
