The Full form of CS is Company Secretary. It is a senior position in private and public sector organizations and is one of the high-paid jobs. The employees employed under this designation are responsible for regulating key business functions along with reporting the progress and issues to the board members. The company secretary’s role is also to make sure that the decisions of board members are strongly implemented. The Institute of Company Secretaries of India is responsible for regulation of the profession of a Company Secretary in India and the institute was established in 1980, under Act of Parliament.

The institute makes sure that its members provide a high level of study module and management and also helps the students get employment in high profile private and public firms. Students pursuing the CS course after 12th class or equivalent qualification have to undergo three stages: Foundation Programme, Executive Programme, and Professional Programme. Students who want to become CS after completing graduation have to undergo two stages: Executive Programme and Professional Programme. CS is much easier as compared to CA which has been referred to the toughest course in India. The CA course is easy to enter but tough to exit.
