Computer Proficiency Certification Test

 

The Full form of CPCT is Computer Proficiency Certification Test. CPCT is a computer proficiency assessment test conducted by the Central Governments and different Governments of States to certify the candidates applying for various jobs in Government departments and agencies. Government of India and a few states like Madhya Pradesh have introduced CPCT (Computer Proficiency Certification Test) in the State to assess computer knowledge and proficiencies including keyboard proficiency and other allied skills of the candidates applying in Government Departments and Agencies for jobs viz., Office assistant/Clerical Grade-3/Data Entry operators, etc.

 

It is also decided by the state government that the Computer Proficiency Certification Test (CPCT) assessment will be done using CBT (Computer Based Test) methodology to ensure fair and transparent assessment of candidates. The Government of MP, dated 26th February 2015 by its order C 3 –15/ 2014/1/3 has recognized CPCT as a mandatory eligibility criterion for various positions viz., Office assistant/Clerical Grade-3/Data Entry operators, etc, in various Government agencies and departments, where typing skill and working knowledge of computers are basic job requirements.

 

The objectives of conducting CPCT are to develop a fair, transparent, object-oriented and scientifically designed system to assess relevant skills and capabilities of the candidate to refer during recruitments in various government departments, Boards, Corporations, and all other agencies.
