The full form of AIADMK is All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. It is currently ruling in the state of Tamilnadu. It is a state-level party with its base in Tamilnadu. It was founded by South cinestar MG Ramchandran in 1972 after his split from DMK. After his death, Jayalalitha led the party from 1985 till her death in 2016. She was a six-time Chief Minister of the state. Currently O Panneerselvam and Edappadi K Palaniswami are the party chairpersons. It has won Tamilnadu state elections seven times. Currently the party is aligned to the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) which rules the centre. Its Headquarters are located in Chennai’s Royapettah area. The party also has significant presence in the Union Territory of Puducherry where it had won four seats in the previous elections.
