Revised Exam date for UPTET 2019 announced by UPBEB
UPTET 2019 revised date announced – Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) has announced the revised exam date for Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2019. As per the notification, UPTET 2019 exam will be held on January 8, 2020. The exam was originally scheduled to be held on December 22, 2019 but has been postponed due to the ongoing protest against the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in the state.
As per the data released by the board, a record number of more than 16 lakh candidates have applied for the exam. Out of this, 10.6 lakh candidates have registered to appear at the primary level, the remaining 5.6 lakh have applied to appear for the exam at the upper-primary level.
The state higher education department has issued directives to all degree colleges to remain closed for regular classes on January 8 in order to conduct the exam smoothly and accommodate all the 16 lakh candidates.
Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) is a state-level examination which is conducted every year for the candidates who choose teaching as a career option.
