Union Public Service Commission has postponed the Indian Economic Service Examination (UPSC IES) 2020 examination. As per the official notification the examination which was cancelled for this year, will be conducted on October 16 to 18, 2020.
UPSC IES 2020 exam notification was supposed to be released on June 10. But after the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance did not report any vacancy, on June 10 UPSC notified the cancellation of the IES exam for this year. However, on a specific request made by the Department of Economic Affairs, the commission has revoked its earlier notice and has decided to hold the UPSC IES 2020 exam from October 16 to 18.
The Official Notification for UPSC IES Exam 2020 will be released on the official website upsc.gov.in on August 11, 2020.
An official notification issued on the Commission’s website reads, “On a specific request by the Department of Economic Affairs, the Commission has reconsidered its earlier decision and has now decided to hold the Indian Economic Service Examination, 2020 on 16th to 18th October, 2020 The Notification of the examination is likely to be issued on 11/08/2020”
Candidates with Post-Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics from a recognized University are eligible to apply for UPSC IES 2020 Examination.
