Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for Admission to PG Courses also from Academic Session 2022

 

After making Common University Entrance Test (CUET) mandatory for Undergraduate admission to 45 central universities, UGC has decided to introduce the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) for post graduate courses as well  from the academic session 2022. The announcement was made by UGC Chairman M.Jagadesh Kumar on his twitter handle.

 

UGC Chairman M. Jagadesh Kumar announced on Twitter “CUET for PG admissions will also be introduced from the 2022 academic session. The exam will be conducted in the third week of July and the application process will begin today and will conclude on June 18.

 

He also added that the “The exam will be conducted in English and Hindi in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.” Programme details will be available on websites of participating central universities and other universities.”

 

Last month, the UGC announced that all central universities and their colleges should only use CUET scores and not Class 12 scores while admitting the students in UG programs.

“However, in some activity-based courses such as Fine Arts, Performing Arts, Sports, Physical Education, etc., additional criteria may be used.”

 

CUET UG 2022 registration process began on May 5, and will conclude on May 22, 2022. Over 10.46 lakh candidates have registered for CUET-UG so far.

 

CUET is just not limited to admissions to central universities. Several prominent private universities have decided to use the CUET scores for undergraduate admissions.
