UGC NET December 2026 has been shortened and the CSIR NET has moved earlier than first proposed. Reports say UGC NET was first planned for 14-19 December with buffer days on 20 and 21 December. The revised plan is 14-18 December plus 21 December.
The joint CSIR-UGC NET was earlier proposed for 20 and 21 December. It is now listed for 19, 22 and 27 December. If you are sitting both exams, check that no two papers fall close together, and watch for subject-wise schedules in the official notice.
What Changed for JEE Main 2027
JEE Main 2027 Session 1 is listed for 20-24 January and 28 January 2027, and the 31 January buffer date has been removed. Reports differ on what the earlier dates were, so rely on the NTA notice and not on any comparison table.
Session 2 is listed for 2-7 April 2027. One report said NTA had also updated the JEE Main website and that the registration link was expected soon, but the page did not give a registration date. Keep an eye on jeemain.nta.nic.in.
What Changed for CUET PG 2027
CUET PG 2027 stays at 17 exam days but the days are rearranged. The reported new schedule is 2-5, 8-9, 12, 15-19, 24-25 and 29-31 March 2027. The earlier plan started on 1 March (Organiser).
The exam is spread across the month, so your own paper may fall on any of these days. Your subject’s date will be in the official schedule once it is released.
How to Plan When Dates Are Tentative
Plan backwards from the revised dates but keep a cushion. NTA says the calendar can change because of administrative, academic, statutory or logistical reasons.
- Count the weeks left. From 28 October to 14 December is about seven weeks for UGC NET. To 20 January is about twelve weeks for JEE Main.
- Write the date in pencil. Put the revised date in your planner, and move your mock-test schedule only after the official notice.
- Aim to finish the syllabus first. Leave the last 2-3 weeks for revision and full-length mocks, not new topics.
- Use one source of truth. Check nta.ac.in and the exam’s own site, not coaching posts or forwarded images.
- Watch for fake notices. Never pay anyone who claims to guarantee a seat or a leaked paper.
