The National Testing Agency (NTA) made this announcement that it would provide relaxation to those candidates of CSIR- UGC NET exams who are having issues in obtaining Result Certificates or the compulsory category certificates for the candidates belonging to different reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC, EWS or PwD. Now the candidates can submit their online applications for the CSIR- UGC NET without the result or category certificate. 

 Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, the Union Human Resource Development (HRD) Minister made this information available via his official Twitter handle. The Minister stated that he had advised the officials of the NTA to relax the compulsory submission by uploading the Category and Result certificates via online mode. However, they would still have to submit these documents whenever they are asked for it later on. Meanwhile, the students have to upload the scanned copies of their signatures as well as the photographs. 

The NTA is responsible for organizing the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research – University Grants Commission – National Eligibility Test (CSIR- UGC- NET) examination every year in order to grant Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) as well as appointment of the lecturers in Colleges and Universities across the country.

The officials from the NTA also issued a notice which read that due to the outbreak of COVID- 29 pandemic and difficulty faced by the majority of CSIR- UGC- NET aspirants due to this situation all over the country, the NTA has decided to relax the rules regarding mandatory submission or uploading of the valid Certificates such as Results and Category ones as well as similar documents that requires attestations of the Gazetted officers. The students would have to submit these documents later on whenever asked for. As of now, they need to upload scanned photos and signs.Earlier, the officials from the NTA had announced their decision to extend the last date in order to apply for the CSIR- UGC- NET exams until May 15, 2020. The eligible candidates need to visit the official website which is www.csirnet.nta.nic.in without any issue in order to apply successfully for the exam.
