Registration of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2024 begins

 

NEET 2024 Registration – National Testing Agency has begun the registration process for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2024 on the official website, exams.nta.ac.in/NEET from February 9, 2024. The Application process will conclude on March 9, 2024 (up to 09:00 pm). Successful transaction of fee through Credit/Debit Card/Net-banking/UPI is March 9, 2024 (up to 11:50 pm).  All those candidates interested to pursue undergraduate medical courses in medical institutions in India can apply for NEET 2024 only through online mode at the official website. The Application Form in any other mode will not be accepted.

An Application Fee of Rs. 1700 (General Category), Rs. 1600 (General-EWS/ OBC-NCL* and SC/ST/PwD/ and Third gender candidates are required to Rs. 1000. All applicants have to pay GST and processing charges which will be in addition to exam fees.

NEET 2024 is scheduled to be conducted on May 5, 2024 in offline mode for admission to MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS Courses as per the relevant norms/ guidelines/ regulations notified by the concerned Regulatory Bodies of the Indian System of Medicine in all Medical Institutions governed under this Act. The examination will be conducted in 13 languages i.e. English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. 

Steps for NEET 2024 Registration 

  • Step-1: Register for the Online Application Form and note down the system-generated Application Number. The candidate should provide the required details while filling the Online Application Form.
  • Step-2:  The Candidates can log in with the system-generated Application Number and pre-created Password for completing the Application Form including filling up personal details, choosing the Question Paper medium and Examination Cities, providing the details of Educational Qualifications, and uploading the images and documents 
  • Step-3: Make payment of fee using a suitable mode of payment.

 

Note: All the steps mentioned above can be done together or at separate times

 

The syllabus of NEET 2024 will be as per the syllabus notified by NMC (National Medical Commission). The Question Paper will be based on the given syllabus (Appendix-IV) in the information bulletin which is available on the NMC website (https://www.nmc.org.in/neet/neet-ug). Furthermore, to rationalize the decision of reduction in the syllabus by various School Education Boards, the NTA has taken a decision to provide choice in Section “B” for each of the 4 (four) Subjects.

The duration of examination will be 200 minutes (3 hrs. 20 minutes). The medical entrance test will comprise of four subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology. Each subject will consist of two sections with internal choices in one section. While Section A will consist of 35 questions, section B will have only 15 questions. Out of the 15 questions from Section B, candidates can choose to attempt any 10 questions.
