The National Testing Agency has postponed the Engineering entrance exam JEE-Mains 2021 due to spike in COVID-19 cases across the country. The new examination dates will be announced soon on the official website.
The official order on the NTA website reads, “looking at the present situation of Covid-19 pandemic and also taking into account the safety and well-being of candidates and examination functionaries, it has been decided to postpone JEE-(Main) April session”.
“The revised dates will be announced later on and at least 15 days before the examination,” the order said.
Engineering entrance exam JEE-Mains 2021 exam was scheduled to be held from April 27-30, 2021 across the country.
Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal took to his Twitter handle and tweeted: “Announcement: Given the current Covid-19 situation, I have advised NTA to postpone the JEE (Main) -2021 April session. I would like to reiterate that the safety of our students and their academic career are @EduminOfIndia’s and my prime concerns right now.”
NTA has already conducted the first two session – February (23 to 26) and March (16 to 18) of JEE Mains 2021 examination.
