IGNOU Certificate Course in Persian Language for July 2019 Session
IGNOU launches Certificate in Persian Language – The School of Foreign Language (SOFL) which comes under Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has announced to launch a Certificate Course in the Persian Language (CCPL) recently. The programme is especially for those students and learners who aspire to learn the ancient language through a non-native context and also those who are interested in knowing about the Persian culture.
This Certificate Programme has been launched with an objective that learners are able to acquire the skills of Persian Language such as pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, synonyms and antonyms, basic ways to communicate both in written and oral mode. With this programme, the learners would be able to communicate in Persian or those Iranians who speak it in everyday life as well.

Details of the course
- The first course is titled ‘Basics of Persian’ and its code is ‘BPEL 011.’ The objective is to develop the linguistic competencies at the beginners level in the students or learners. The total credits to be awarded are eight.
- The second course is titled ‘Communication Skills’ where students and learners will develop a situation based on their communication skills at the breakthrough level. Its code is ‘BPEL 012’ and a total of eight credits would be awarded.
Those candidates who wish to take admission into these courses should have completed their 12th from any stream under a recognised board. Their age should be 18 or above. The medium of instruction for this course would be ‘English’ and ‘Persisan.’ The duration of this programme is six months which can also be extended to a maximum of two years.
The admission to this course would be provided during both January and July sessions and the course fees is Rs 1800 for the full program. As of now, the programme will be offered at selected regional centres of IGNOU such as Delhi, Patna, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Srinagar, Lucknow and Noida.
