ICSE, ISC 2019 exam pattern changed – The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has introduced some changes in the examination pattern of Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE) and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ISC). The change will be implemented from year 2019 onwards.

 

The official release also mentions that, CISCE will be conducting compartmental examination for both ICSE and ISC. All the candidates will be eligible to appear for only one compartmental exam in a year. The compartmental examination will be held in the month of July and the result for the same will be announced in August.

 

Moreover from 2021, new subjects will be included in the curriculum. As per the report, ICSE Group I History, Civics and Geography (Thailand) will be offered to aspirants of Thai nationality compulsorily while others can also opt for the same. The students will have a choice to study either History Civics and Geography or History Civics and Geography (Thailand) and Hospitality management and legal studies will be added to the syllabus of ISC. In addition, English literature subject will be changed for both ICSE and ISC. Both the classes will have to mandatorily study the Shakespearean play, prose (short stories) and poetry

 

With the change in syllabus, the question paper of Class 10 and 9 will align the curriculum of Class 6 and 8.

 

Changes are not only made for students but some new rules have been introduced for teachers too. Training programs will be mandatory for the teachers at elementary ISC and ICSE levels from 2019 onward

 

ICSE will make the examination related process including admission cards, customized timetables etc all online. From 2019 onwards, in addition to the subject-wise marks, paper-wise marks will also be provided for English, history, civics and geography and science on the statement of marks are among other initiative taken by CISCE.

 

Meanwhile, the date sheet for Class 10 and Class 12 Exams for the next year has been announced.  According to date sheet, Class 10 exams will be conducted from February 22, and will be concluded on March 9, 2019, whereas the exams for Class 12 students will start from February 4, 2019, and will be end on March 25, 2019.
