Finance Minister announces IBPS RRB to be conducted in13 regional languages other than English and Hindi
IBPS RRB to be conducted in 13 regional languages other than Enlgish and Hindi – Nirmala Sitharaman who is Union Finance Minister recently stated that apart from Hindi and English, the government would conduct the exams of Rural Regional Banks under the Institute of Personal Banking and Services (IBPS RRB) in 13 other regional languages as well. These exams are conducted for the posts of Office Assistants and the direct Recruitment of Officers for the Scale 1 posts. The Finance Minister made this announcement while speaking before the lower house i.e. the Rajya Sabha.
This decision by the Government has provided relief to the lakhs of students who will be appearing for Rural Regional Bank exams. The Minister also stated that this step will expand possible employment opportunities for the local youths and they will get a level playing field.

Every year IBPS conducts exams for the posts of RRB office Assistants and Officer Scale I and II in order to fill thousands of vacancies. It has been reported that more than 10 lakh candidates apply for this exam. The exams are conducted in three stages for Officer level – Preliminary, Mains and Personal Interview. For the post of Office Assistant, the exam is conducted in two rounds – Preliminary and Mains. The Officer Scale 1 exam will take place on August 3,4 and 11. The exam for Office Assistant will take place on August 17, 18 and 25.
IBPS will be conducting the Prelims and Mains exams. For the interview round, IBPS will coordinate with the Nodal Regional Banks in consultation with National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD). The selected candidates will get their joining letters by January 2020. Some of the prelims and Mains exam centres are Delhi, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Pune, Mumbai, Patna, Muzaffarpur, Nagpur, Guwahati, Ajmer, Jaipur, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Rohtak, Kohima, Dehradun among others.
Apart from conducting the exams, IBPS is also known to provide the Pre-Placement Training to those candidates who belong to reserved categories such as SC, ST, Minorities Communities, Ex-Servicemen or Person with Benchmark Disabilities for the posts of both Office Assistant and Officers.
