Easy Board Exam with an option of two attempts in a year

HRD suggests Easy Board Exam with two attempts in a year –  As per the report by various news agencies, a Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry official has stated that the NCERT would be preparing guidelines regarding transformation in assessments by 2022. It is being done after the officials had noted that the current assessment system in the school education is having ‘harmful effects.’

Currently, the HRD Ministry is working to give process to the latest National Education Policy (NEP). In its final draft, it has been proposed that ‘high aspect’ stakes belonging to the ‘Board Exams’ should be eliminated. During a given school year, all students should be allowed to take exams twice. The exam should be made easier as well.

The National Council for Educational Research and Training (NCERT) will be reviewing its National Curriculum Framework (NCF) after a period of 14 years. In sync with this latest framework, the NCERT would develop the guidelines of assessment as well.

The Draft has proposed that holistic development would be encouraged by the board exams so that the current assessment system’s harmful aspects could be reversed.

Once the draft gets a final shape under the HRD Ministry, it would be sent for approval to the Union Cabinet.
