As the students of Classes I to XII are stuck at their respective homes due to lockdown, the Union Human Resource Development Ministry has come up with an Alternative Academic Calendar for these classes. The Union HRD Minister Mr  Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank released the calendar this Tuesday.

The calendar has been designed in a meaningful manner in order to engage the students while they have to stay at home for such a prolonged period. Following the guidelines of the HRD officials the NCERT has come up with this calendar.

The Minster has stated that the Calendar consists of guidelines regarding how the Teachers should be using different Social Media and Technological tools such as Google Classroom in order to provide education to the students. The teachers have been asked to come up with interesting and fun-filled ways so that the students can continue learning while being at home.

The Minister further said that they have accessed several such tools such as various Social Media, Mobile, TV, Radio and SMS. Several students do not have Internet facilities at home or they may be unable to use the Social Media tools. Hence, the academic calendar would help the teachers to guide parents and students using mobile call or SMS. Parents of the students from Elementary grade are expected to help the students while implementing this calendar.

This calendar covers all the subjects of the Classes I to XII. It takes care of all the students including those with special needs. It will include links of Video programs, audio books and radio programs.
