Last date of online registration for GATE 2021 extended till October 7
Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay has extended the last date to register for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2021. As per the notification, the last date of GATE 2021 registration has been extended till October 7, 2020. GATE 2021 registration last date with additional fee has been extended to October 8 to October 12, 2020. Candidates who are interested to appear for GATE 2021 exam and have not applied for it yet can do so through the official website: gate.iitb.ac.in.
The extension of the last date of registration for GATE 2021 is done after receiving several requests from prospective candidates.
GATE is mandatory exam for getting admission in Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and doctoral programs in relevant branches of Arts and Science, in the institutions supported by the MoE and other Government agencies including the Indian Institutes of Technology.
The GATE 2021 exam would be a fully computer-based test in which all test papers would be objective type. The pattern of the question paper would vary from subject to subject but would essentially include some multiple choice questions, some multiple select questions and a few numerical answer type questions.
From this year onwards, two new subjects – Environmental Science and Engineering (ES) and Humanities and Social Sciences (XH) in Economics, English, Linguistics, Philosophy, Psychology and Sociology have been introduced to extend the scope of GATE. The exam will now be held for 27 subjects.
