Accordingly the first cutoff list which was supposed to be released on June 20 will be delayed with the extension in the date for registration. The varsity is yet to released the revised date for the announcement of the first cutoff list.
As per the reports, the dates have been extended following a High Court judgment on the petitions challenging DU’s recently amended eligibility criteria for admissions for various undergraduate courses.
A bench of Justices Anu Malhotra and Talwant Singh directed the university to allow the students to apply for admission as per the eligibility criteria for 2018-2019.
The High Court’s judgment had stated that, “the directions in the current situation shall not preclude the University of Delhi from making changes in the eligibility criteria for the forthcoming years to its undergraduate courses as required, It however, maintained that the changes have to be made in accordance with the law, “which would require a minimum of six months of public notice to the public at large”.
