DU Admissions 2019: The Delhi University (DU) has once again postponed the date of release of the application forms for admission to undergraduate courses at the varsity. As per Indianexpress.com, the Admission committee in-charge Rajeev Gupta said that, “We have yet to finalize the date of the entrance exams. Once the exam conducting body finalize the date and procedure, the application form will be released online”. Rajiv Gupta also said, “The portal for merit-based and entrance exams is same and the applications for both will begin together
As admissions to most of the courses in the DU are merit-based, there are some courses for which entrance exams are being conducted. Varsity is planning to rope-in the National Testing Agency (NTA) to conduct the entrance exams for admission. The Admission committee of DU has approved the proposal and has already reached the NTA. As per Vineet Joshi, director general, NTA informed, “we have already received the proposal and have given a nod.
The varsity is deciding the procedure and other formalities for making NTA the exam conducting body.
In the meantime varsity has released the syllabus for Entrance exam for several subjects.
On the other hand, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has also written a letter to the Registrar of Delhi University to align their admission process with the preponed result schedule of the class 12 board examinations. This year CBSE has announced class 12 result on May 2, 2019 in record 28 days
A Board official said that “As per the directives of the Delhi High Court, CBSE has preponed all its activities of conduct of examination, declaration of result and process of verification and revaluation.
The official also said that the Delhi University has to fix the last date of submission of application form for admission in Delhi University in such a manner that the work of re-evaluation is over prior to the last date of Delhi University admission process.
The Delhi University is yet to announce the admission schedule while St Stephen’s college which is not part of the centralized admission process has announced the schedule. The Admission has begun at the college from May 22.
