Delhi govt to pay exam fees of Students Under govt run and aided CBSE schools

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Mr Manish Sisodia has announced that his govt will pay the fees of all those students who study in govt run and aided CBSE schools in the Union Territory. Currently his Govt is in talks with CBSE to roll back the hike in fees amount.

Last week CBSE had announced to hike the fees of those students who will be appearing for Board exams in 2020. They were hiked by an amount up to Rs 1150. Once the news was out, parents of the students, especially those belonging to SC/ST categories had protested against this announcement.

Later on CBSE had justified its decision of increasing the fees amount as the Board was facing financial crunches. On Monday, however, the Board said that it will not pass its financial burden to SC/ST students and exempted them from paying the increased fees amount.

The Dy CM further announced that his govt is working on modalities in order to pay the fees of CBSE students belonging to all categories.
