The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) during the Supreme Court hearing has given its final decision to cancel the pending Class 10 and 12 board exams scheduled to be held from July 1 to 15. CBSE has taken the decision after the Supreme Court had asked to take a final call on holding of the pending exams.
A petition was filed by a section of parents and students demanding the cancellation of the board exam scheduled to be held in July. As per the petition filed by parents, students might be exposed to Covid-19 infection if they have to appear in the examinations. Several State governments have also expressed reservations against conducting the exams in July

After thorough discussions among CBSE Officials, HRD Ministry and other academic experts, the decision of canceling the pending board exam has been taken.
Due to the outbreak of coronavirus and the nationwide lockdown, the board had to postpone the exams of some subjects which were scheduled to be held between March 19 to 31, 2020. The pending board exam for Class 12 (All India) and Class 10 (North East Delhi) was rescheduled from July 1 – 15, 2020.
CBSE Class 12th students get the option to appear in exams provided as and when conditions are conducive or take assessment based on their performance in past three exams.The assessment scheme will be notified soon by the board. As per the board, assessment based result for class 12th students is expected to be declared by July 15, 2020
