Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank on Wednesday through his twitter handle announced that students of Class 10 and 12 can appear for the pending CBSE board exams from their home district.

In a video message, HRD Minister said, “Class 10 and 12 students, who have to appear in pending board exams but have moved to different state or district during the lockdown when schools were closed, will be able to appear for exams at their present place only. They will not be required to travel back.

The decision was taken keeping in view of the long distances that students would have to undertake and the quarantine measures that school authorities would have been forced to undertake. Several residential schools had also made request to CBSE and HRD in this regard.

Minister also said that the CBSE will soon issue a notification in this regard and modalities of registrations for such requests. Students are advised to be regular in touch with their respective schools to know about the exam centers allotted to them and the procedure to get registered for the same.

The pending board exam is scheduled to be held from July 1 to 15, 2020. The date sheet for the same has been released by the board and can be checked at CBSE’s official website: cbse.nic.in.

The exam will be conducted in 15,000 centers across the country. The numbers of centres were increased to maintain social distancing and prevent the spread of Coronavirus.
