CBSE allows students with special needs to use calculator in Board Exam

As per the official notification from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), students with special needs appearing for the CBSE Class 10 or Class 12 Board Exam 2020 will be able to use basic calculators.
 
The letter sent to schools by CBSE Controller of Examinations, Sanyam Bhardwaj reads – “The board has decided to facilitate students under Children with Special Needs (CSWN) category by permitting the use of simple basic calculator during Class X and Class XII board examination.

It also mentioned that the “Calculator will only be allowed to those students who have already been registered under CWSN category for the 2020 examination.

To avail this facility, students will have to give a request along with appropriate certificate to their respective schools by January 28, 2020 and the principals will have to forward the same to the concerned regional office of CBSE

According to Sanyam Bhardwaj, “Candidates who will request without appropriate certificate will not be allowed to use calculator during examinations.

During 2018 Board Exam, CBSE had allowed specially-abled students to use computers or laptops to write their exam.
