Online Entrance test for Calcutta University PG Admission 2019
Calcutta University to conduct Online Entrance Test for PG Admission – Calcutta University on Monday, June 24, 2019 announced that it would be opting for the online entrance exam for all Post-Graduation Courses offered by varsity for the academic session 2019. Calcutta University is one of the oldest Universities of the country and has a glorious history of over 162 years. Sixty-six departments under the University offers PG courses in different streams.

University’s Vice-Chancellor Sonali Chakravarti Banerjee while speaking to media stated that earlier they had announced to make the admission process online completely, similarly, the University will conduct entrance exams for PG courses likewise. They have taken this decision to have transparency and modernization in their system and also to save time. With this, PG courses admission for all colleges affiliated to Calcutta University would be conducted online.
With this step, Calcutta University becomes the first University in the region to conduct online tests in a modern way for its multiple PG courses. To conduct this examination, the University would tie up with several exam centres in different cities. The University administration would soon issue the official notification regarding PG entrance exam through its official website.
Apart from announcing University’s decision to conduct PG entrance online, the Vice Chancellor also made an announcement regarding PG final year exams. She said that the officials are considering to conduct final year PG exams away from the home centres. In order to maintain transparency and curb malpractices, a PG student studying in a specific college will have to write their exam in a different centre.
Further, the Vice-Chancellor added that with such steps, Calcutta University is trying to strengthen its exam system by making it fair and transparent and by following a more disciplined approach.
