Directorate of Distance Education, University of Jammu announces Admission Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Program 2023 in ODL Mode


Jammu University Distance Education B.Ed Admission 2023 – Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) University of Jammu invites online applications in a prescribed format from the eligible candidates for admission to the B.Ed. Program for the academic session 2023-25 through Distance Learning (ODL) Mode. The Program Structure for Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Program in the Directorate of Distance Education shall extend over a period of two academic years (04 Semesters). The Bachelor of Education Programme(B.Ed.) aims at preparing in-service teachers for the secondary stage of education, in accordance with the notifications of the NCTE with regard to minimum qualifications for recruitment as a teacher.   • B.Ed program offered through the ODL mode is of two year duration (four semesters). However, as per the Regulation 3 of NCTE Norms and Standards for Bachelor of Education Programme through Distance Learning System, students shall be permitted to complete the components of the degree within a period of five years


Intake Capacity

  • The intake capacity for the two year B.Ed. Programme in the DDE in a given academic session shall be 500

  • Last Date to apply for the B.Ed Program through distance mode admission is till 25th October 2023


Eligibility Criteria

Admission to the B.Ed course through distance education mode shall be open to the candidates:

  • Who have passed bachelor’s degree examination in the faculty of Arts, Science, Social Sciences, Commerce, Medicine, Veterinary Science and Forestry conducted by the University of Jammu or an examination from any other University recognized as equivalent thereto
  • Who are serving as full time teachers in the recognized school (primary/secondary/higher secondary levels) within the territorial jurisdiction of the University of Jammu and
  • Who have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience either at a stretch or in parts at the time of submission of application form for admission
  • Applicants are advised to fill in the form online with correct particulars and take out the print out of the filled in form for the personal record for further use

  • NCTE Act is not applicable to the State of Jammu & Kashmir
  • Candidates who do not present themselves at the time of counseling shall not be entertained later
  • Handbook of information shall be provided to the candidates at the time of counseling but e- prospectus will be available on
  • The University/Directorate has not authorized any person/agency to conduct admission on its behalf


Application Fee

  • Application forms submitted online only will be considered for admission.
  • Application fee/ processing charges Rs 500/


Admission Fee

  • Admission Fee for the session 2023-25 is Rs 32380. In addition to the mentioned fee the candidates are required to deposit the following fee in the directorate as the case may be:
  • Registration Fee Rs 360/- for the candidates not already registered with the University of Jammu
  • Eligibility Fee Rs 880/- for candidates migrating from other universities
  • Revival of Registration Fee Rs 500/- if migration certificate is surrendered
  • Revival Fee Rs 1380/-

Refund of Fee

  • The applicants declared ineligible for admission at the time of counseling cum admission to the B.Ed programme must submit an application for refund of fee to the Director, Directorate of Distance Education within 15 days after being declared ineligible.
  • No request for refund of fee shall be entertained after the expiry of 15 days
