Assam Agricultural University Distance Education Admission 2023 – Directorate of Open & Distance Learning, Assam Agricultural University (AAU-ODL), Guwahati has released the admission notification for various Short-Term Training and Certificate Courses to be started from October 2023. Assam Agricultural University (AAU) is a state agricultural university established in 1969 at Jorhat, Assam is the first institution of its kind in the whole North-Eastern Region of India. With its triple mandates of teaching, research and extension, the main goal of this institution is to produce globally competitive human resources for the farm sector and to carry out research in both conventional and frontier areas of agriculture and allied sciences. Courses Offered

  • The Directorate of Open and Distance Learning, Assam Agricultural University (AAU-ODL) is currently providing 2 different types of courses:
  1. Short-Term Training
  2. Certificate Course

Short-Term Training Courses

  1. Commercial Layer Farming – 1 Month
  2. Mushroom Production Technology – 1 Month
  3. Ornamental Fish Culture and Management – 14 Days
  4. Rooftop Gardening – 45 Days
  5. Honey Production Technology – 45 Days

Certificate Courses

  1. Laboratory Assistant – 6 Months
  2. Garment Designing and Construction – 6 months
  3. Preservation and Packaging of Fruits and Vegetables – 6 Months

 

Course Structure

  • The salient features of various AAU ODL Courses are as mentioned below.
  • Classes for each course will be conducted online. (Google Meet, other meeting app)
  • Each course will be conducted under the supervision of a Course Director.
  • For each course, the registered learners will have to undergo in-campus practical training for at least 3-7 days for short-term training courses and 10 days for certificate courses, preferably towards the end of the course.
  • Self-Learning Material (SLM) will be provided to the learners.
  • At the end of the course certificate will be provided to the learners. It is mandatory to attend the Hand on / Practical Training in selected campus of Assam Agricultural University

Short-Term Training Courses

  1. Commercial Layer Farming: Class VIII Passed
  2. Mushroom Production Technology: Class VIII Passed
  3. Ornamental Fish Culture & Management: Class VIII Passed
  4. Rooftop Gardening: Class VIII Passed
  5. Honey Production Technology: Class VIII Passed

Certificate Courses

  1. Laboratory Assistant: Graduate in any branch of Biological Sciences Passed
  2. Garment Designing and Construction: Class X Passed
  3. Preservation & Packaging of Fruits and Vegetables: Class XII Passed

  • Click on the “Online Application Form”
  • A Google form will appear and you must login to Gmail Account to Apply
  • Fill your all personal and educational details and upload necessary documents
  • Make payment of application fee as per your category and submit the form
  • At the end, take a print out of the application form for your reference

Selection Process

  • Candidates will be selected on the basis of eligibility criteria as mentioned earlier. List of Shortlisted Candidates will be published on the website odl.aau.ac.in
