Admission Procedure for Annamalai University Distance Education courses

Admission procedures for various distance learning courses - both undergraduate and postgraduate - in Annamalai University have been announced. Here’s an overview:

Annamalai University has announced the admission procedures for its various undergraduate and postgraduate distance learning courses.

The university which is renowned for its various quality and affordable distance learning courses across all theee streams (Science, Arts and Commerce), grants admission of students via three distinct modes.

Spot Selection: Spot Selection is the best option for all those who live near one of Annamalais many study centers. Selection for direct admission to all the courses shall be decided upon at the study centers. However, this mode won’t be applicable to Lateral Entry Programs

Admission through post: In the event, the applicant does not live near an Annamalai study center, he or she can send the filled in applocation to the following address:

the Director, Directorate of Distance Education, Annamalai University, Annamalainagar - 608002

For admission through post, the candidate will require sending attested xerox copies of,  (i) Certificates for minimum required qualification, (ii) Transfer/ Migration Certificate and (iii) Stamp size photograph for Identity Card, alongside the filled in application form.

Please note that students applying for admission via post are not required to enclose the originals and demand draft with the application form. Visit this page to learn about the available modes of payment.

Admission procedure for lateral entry programs: Candidates seeking admission into second year will mandatorily require to furnish proof that he successfully completed the 1st year of the program from another recognized uniersity in the same discipline with minimum 3/4th of syallabi common to Annamalai’s.

The same rules are applicable to those seeking lateral admission into third year - the only difference would be that, here candidates will have to prove that they successfully completed the second year of the program from a recognized university (in the same disciplin).

The university has asked candidates to enclose their transfer certificate, original marksheet, migration certificate, an attested photocopy of the syllabus that he had studied, as well as evidence of his Date of Birth along with the filled in application form.
