Establishment
The Department of IT & BT, Government of Karnataka, in association with ICICI Bank has established the Institute of Bioinformatics and Applied Biotechnology. Programmes began in 2002.
Postgraduate course in bioinformatics started in 2002. The 8 th batch of this 18-month course are now doing their course work. Overall, 75% of these students have found jobs in industry.

Admission Process
Admission is any course would be made on the basis of candidate’s performance in the admission test; if and where, no test in conducted, admission would be made on the basis of aggregate total marks secured by the candidate in / at the qualifying examination and marks obtained by the candidate in eligibility subject
