Establishment

Allahabad University has always occupied an esteemed place among the universities of India for over a century now. Established on 23rd September 1887, it is the fourth oldest university of India after Calcutta, Bombay and Madras University.The credit for conceiving a large Central College at Allahabad, eventually to develop into a University, is due to Sir William Muir, then Lt. Governor of United Provinces. As a result of his initiative the foundation stone of the Muir Central College (named after him) was laid on Dec. 9 1873 by His Excellency Lord Northbrook. Sir William Muir said on that occasion: "The establishment of a central college at Allahabad has been my earnest desire ever since I assumed my present office. Shortly after coming here I found that a strong wish prevailed among the chief people of the place for a better means of education at Allahabad; and being myself deeply impressed with the same conviction,

Admission Process

University of Allahabad has several of courses. A student can take admission in any of these courses by appearing in its entrance examamination.
Under Graduate Admission Test
The Entrance Exam of UGAT is conducted by the University of Allahabad in the month of June. The sale of form is commenced from the 2nd week of April. The cost of form is Rs. 400/- for Gen/OBC & Rs. 200/- for SC/ST.

Post Graduate Admission Test
The Entrance Exam of UGAT is conducted by the University of Allahabad in the month of June. The sale of form is commenced from the 1st week of Mayl. The cost of form is Rs. 400/- for Gen/OBC & Rs. 200/- for SC/ST.

Master of Computer Applications
The Entrance Exam of MCA is conducted by the Centre of Computer Education, Institute of Professional Studies in the last week of May. The sale of form commences from last week of April. The cost of form is Rs. 600/- for all categories.

 

Bachelor of Computer Applications
The Entrance Exam of BCA is conducted by the Centre of Computer Education, Institute of Professional Studies in the third week of July. The cost of form is Rs. 500/- for all categories.

Diploma in Information Technology
The Entrance Exam of DIT is conducted by the Centre of Computer Education, Institute of Professional Studies in the last week of May. The sale of form commences from last week of April. The cost of form is Rs. 300/- for all categories.

Diploma in Computer Application
The Entrance Exam of DCA is conducted by the Centre of Computer Education, Institute of Professional Studies in the last week of May. The sale of form commences from last week of April. The cost of form is Rs. 300/- for all categories.

Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application
The Entrance Exam of PGDCA is conducted by the Centre of Computer Education, Institute of Professional Studies in the month of June. The sale of form commences from last week of April. The cost of form is Rs. 400/- for all categories.
