Rajiv Gandhi Snatkottar Mahavidyalaya, presently comprised into ” Nehru Gram Bharati Vishwavidyalaya” and had been evaluated by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) , UGC and had been accredited by B+ Grade. This Degree College was established in the year 1996 by Shri. G.D. Memorial Trust and all its Syllabus is being automatically converted into Nehru Gram Bharati’s Syllabus from the current session i.e. 2008-09. All its admissions will be carrieds out in the name of Nehru Gram Bharati University, Jamunipur, Kotwa, Dubawal, Allahabad.

Admission Process 

Admission in Graduate Classes
Any one seeking admission to the University will have to use separate prescribed forms for the admission in the following courses.
(i) B.A. (ii) B.Com. (iii) B.Sc. (Maths) (iv) B.Sc.(Zoology)

For Admissions in B.A. and B.Com., all those students are eligible, who have passed or appeared their 10+2 through U.P. Board or equivalent Boards. But for admission in B.Sc. course those candidates are eligible who have passed their 10+2 class with the respective group of subjects, equivalency would be according to University Bye Laws.

Unsuccessful candidates of the last year are also eligible for admission.

Reservations for the admission in various courses would be as per the norms of government.
Preference would be given to the state level sports players.

Following testimonials must be enclosed with the admission form.
a) Attested Mark sheets & certificate of High school & Intermediate Classes.
b) Character certificate issued by the Principal of the last Institution.
c) Migration/Transfer Certificate of Last Institution.

 Teaching Subjects
Following subjects will be taught in B.A. and B.Sc. classes :
1. In B.A. – I ( 3 Year Course) – Hindi Literature, Eng. Literature, Sanskrit, Anc. History, Philosophy, Economics, Education, Political Science , Sociology, Urdu, Home Science, will be taught. But a student can’t opt more than two languages subjects. As per rules of University, students can opt a subject from three groups amongst the following five groups.

2. B.Sc. (3 Years Course) – Students of B.Sc. I have to opt a group from the following –

b) Zoology Group : Chemistry, Botany, Zoology

3. B.Com. (3 Years Course) -Students have to take all the compulsory subjects decided by the University.

4.M.A. -Students may opt Hindi, Ancient History, Education, Pol.Science,, Sociology, Home Science,. For Admission in M.A., students have to pass B.A. in the respective subjects.

5.Admission Form – Admission forms can be obtained from the University after paying the Admission form fees.

6).Admission Procedure in vocational courses –
a) B.Ed. (One Year Course) : Is being started from 1996. It has also got the permanent affiliation from the National Council of Teachers Education (N.C.T.E.) for 200 seats. All the lecturers of B.Ed. department are having the required qualification as per the UGC. Lecturers of B.Ed. Department throw their lectures over theoretical and practical papers based on university curriculum. Apart from this other co-curricular activities such as Yoga, debate, essay writing, weekly seminar, social programmes, cultural programmes, sports meet etc. are also organized time to time. All the student teachers are supposed to come in their uniform.

b).M.Ed. (1 Year Course) : This course has got a permanent affiliation from N.C.T.E.. All the faculty members are well qualified according to the norms of UGC. There are 25 seats in M.Ed. Course. Only those students are eligible who have secured 55% marks in the B.Ed. exam.

c).Admission Procedure : For admissions in B.Ed. and M.Ed., entrance exam is conducted. Passed students of exam are admitted through counselling. Interested students may contact university for admission.

7).Special Education Cell/ department –
Special education department was established in the year 2003. Under the name of this department B.Ed. Special (H.I.) and M.,Ed. Special (H.I.) courses are being recognized and affiliated to Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) , Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, India.
Main Object of this curriculum is to prepare competent and efficient teachers for the training of Deaf & dumb students. This is 1 year course and having 25 and 10 seats respectively.

Admission Procedure :

a) B.Ed. Special (H.I.) : For admission in this course, those candidates are eligible, who have secured 50% marks in their graduate/post graduate exams. 5% marks are relaxed in case of SC/ST. students.

b) For admission in M.Ed. Special (H.I.), all those students are eligible who have secured 55% in B.Ed. Special(H.I.) with any affiliated university. 5% marks are relaxed in case of SC/ST. students.

c) M.Ed. Special (H.I.) : Students can take admission, who have passed their B.Ed. with more than 55% marks and having a one year diploma of R.C.I. (Rehabilitation Council of India).

d) Admissions are given on basis of counseling of the students after qualifying the entrance exam of the university.

M.S.W. (Master of Social Work) : The object of this syllabus is to prepare young youth for the job oriented courses to cope-up with the growing demand in Industrial Establishments. NGOs, village and community developments so that the aspiring youth force may be utilized in the in the various fields of Social development apart from securing job opportunities. M.S.W. (Master of Social Work) is a second unique post graduate course which is divided into four semesters. Syllabus is approved by U.G.C..

Field Work : Field Work is an important and integral part of this course under which field work workshop is compulsory for a minimum 15 hours weekly apart from there is provision of educational tours and camping from time to time. So that students may get an opportunity of learning the job oriented system in various currently run establishments and organizations and they may be able to exhibit their inborn capacities in future in their practical life. In addition there is also a provision of acquiring ample suitable knowledge and competence for research work in various projects in any social subjects. Apart from in the 3rd semester student has to make a selection of one specialized paper out of four different optional papers. After 2nd Semester the students will be attached for 6 weeks in any of the NGO’s and they will work under the guidance of the director and detailed progress report will be forwarded to this. Nehru Gram Bharati University and its assessment will be given due weightage during the practical exam by the University.

8)M.A. (Rural Development) curriculum :
Field Work : Field Work is an important aspect of this course, under which one has to do minimum 15 hours field work a week. Under this at grass root level essential tips & information’s are made available in the context of rural development oriented projects and schemes run by various NGO’s and from time to time training programmes are organized under self leadership for the speedy development of village/block developments by students themselves and essential information is disseminated among people by subject experts. The process of village development remains incomplete till the upliftment of women, children and down trodden is not achieved. To achieve this affective awareness is inducted into through health camps and vocational oriented programmes for the employment of ladies by students. In order to make them self sufficient suitable training is imparted at personal and community level (Self Help Groups).

Under this syllabus there is also a provision for educational tours & camping at block level, so that students get an on the spot opportunity and field work to get in touch with these programmes and to learn the skill and technique of leadership so that in future they may develop/passes the capacity to undertake such tasks themselves, In addition to increased efficiency in the field of research.

These programmes are organised by Nehru Gram Bharati University different programmes are organised by the University from time to time, so that students may develop the ability to root out the various prevalent complicated social evils of various problematic social groups in the Society programmes organised by the Nehru Gram Bharati University are listed below :-

Seminars and farmers training by experts to the villagers.
Training programmes for women vocalization.
Active participation of students of water conservation & management in Sidhi District of M.P.
Study of Problems of Snake Charmers (Sapera) and mines labors.
Career counseling and polio campaign training programme by UNICEF.
Career counseling programme by government agencies/NGO’s.
Health care camps are organized for the rural community concerning their health problems.
Article writings on community and village development.

Admission Procedure of M.A.(Rural Development) :
Eligibility : 2nd Class graduate students may also apply for the admission in M.A.(Rural Development). Students are admitted on the basis of entrance exam and the counseling held in the University. Admission forms are available in University at the cost of Rs.300 only. Date of Entrance exams would be declared later.
