Today, with over 20,000 students, BHU is one of the largest residential universities in Asia.
The University is spread across two campuses, the Main Campus and the Rajiv Gandhi South Campus. With 4 institutes and 14 faculties (streams) and more than 140 departments, BHU is host to students from over 34 countries. The university also the boasts of the very rare distinction in that it hosts an IIT in its campus.
