Exam Date for UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Mains 2021announced

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the examination schedule of the Combined Geo-Scientist (Mains) 2021. As per the notification released, UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist (Mains) Exam 2021 will be conducted on July 17 and July 18, 2021. 

All those candidates who have qualified the UPSC Geologist Prelims Exam 2021 can check the timetable of the UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist (Mains) 2021 on the official website – upsc.gov.in. The admit card for the same will be made available to the candidates two weeks before the exam.

The main examination will have three papers for each stream and all papers will be of descriptive type. Marks secured in this examination will be counted for deciding the final merit.

Candidates competing for selection to the posts of Chemist/Chemical, Geophysicist are required to appear in all the papers (Paper I, II, III and IV) to be held on July 17 and 18. Whereas, candidates competing for selection for the post of Jr. Hydrologists only will be required to appear for paper I & II of Geologist on July 17 and paper 4 of hydrogeology only on July 18, 2021.

The Combined Geo-Scientist examination is conducted for the selection of eligible candidates for recruitment of Geologist, Geophysicist and Chemist posts in the Geological Survey of India and the Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources. Through this recruitment drive, UPSC aims at filling up a total of 40 vacancies.
