UGC to University – Final year exam cannot be cancelled

University Grant Commission said that the final year exam cannot be cancelled and ample time and option has been given to Universities to conduct the exams. The commission also said that conducting the exams will be in the long term interest and life time credibility of the students.

UGC also mentions that even the best universities across the world are conducting online examinations, but no one is awarding any certificates without any assessment. UGC also directed universities and colleges to conduct the terminal semester/ final year examination either in online, offline or blended mode (online + Offline) by the end of September 2020. If for any reason a student cannot take the exam the guidelines have made provision for a special exam to be conducted by the university at a conducive time

The student of 1st and 2nd year has been exempted from the exams and will be assessed based on previous semester performance and internal assessments.

The UGC guidelines are mandatory for all government and private universities except for the 155 Institutions of National Importance.

Recently, some state government has cancelled the final year examination in their state. As per UGC central or state government cannot scrap University Exams. The commission has asked these states to acknowledge the new directions.
