UGC released list of Fake Universities across the country

List of Fake Universities released by UGC

The University Grants Commission has released the list of Fake Universities across the country. The list has the names of 24 universities that have been termed as fake.  As per the UGC, these universities are not empowered to confer any degree. 

Eight of these fake universities are from Uttar Pradesh and seven from Delhi. Odisha and West Bengal have two fake universities each while Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh have one each.

As per the statement released by the commission, these 24 self-styled, unrecognized institutions are functioning in contravention of the UGC Act, which have been declared as fake universities and these are not empowered to confer any degree.
