On May 3, 2020, the officials from the Union Ministry of Human Resources Development (HRD) made this statement that the new dates for National Eligibility Entrance test (NEET) and Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) will be announced on May 5, 2020. The news is a big relief for Engineering and Medical aspirants who were left in a state of confusion after the exam got cancelled due to the lockdown imposed across the country because of Corona virus fears.

Dr Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’, the Union HRD Minister himself will announce the fresh dates on May 5. Once the new dates are revealed, the uncertainty of lakhs of students will be put to rest. Apart from making the important announcements, the Minister would also be interacting with the anxious students across the country via his official Twitter handle.

NEET is conducted in order to grant admission into Undergraduate Medical courses whereas JEE Main is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering (BE/B.Tech and B.Arch/B.Plan) Courses in NITs, IIITs and CFTIs. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is responsible for conducting both the examinations.
