TNOU BEd Special Education Admission 2020 – Tamil Nadu Open University is conducting the Entrance Examination for admission to Bachelor of Education – Special Education (B.Ed. Spl. Ed.) Programme for the January 2021 Batch

About B.Ed Special Education course
  • The B.Ed. Spl.Ed. Program is offered through Special Education Program Study Centres approved by the Tamil Nadu Open University and recognized by the Rehabilitation Council of India distributed in the State of Tamil Nadu.
  • At present B.Ed.Spl.Ed. is being offered in three (03) Specializations viz., Visual Impairment (VI), Hearing Impairment (HI) and Intellectual Disability (ID)
  • The B.Ed. Spl.Ed. Program (Distance mode) is of 2½ years (5 semesters). However, the student-teacher is permitted to complete within a maximum period of 5 years, after the enrolment.

Eligibility Criteria for TNOU BEd Special Education Admission 2020
  • The candidates residing in the state of Tamil Nadu only, are eligible to apply for B.Ed (Spl.Ed) programme.
  • The candidates satisfying the qualifications prescribed by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) and TNOU norms are eligible to apply for B.Ed.Spl.Ed.programme.
  • For B.Ed.Spl.Ed. Programme of Tamil Nadu Open University, the admission will be given to the students based on RCI norms. Admission Guidelines for B.Ed.Programme issued by Higher Education Department, Government of Tamil Nadu.
  • Candidates with at least fifty percent marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and / or in the Master’s Degree in Science / Social Sciences / Humanity, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the programme
  • The candidates should have undergone 10+2+3(15) or 11+1+3(15) pattern of study and passed the qualifying examination conducted by the respective State Board or CBSE or any other recognized Board of Education / Examination and UG Degree Examination of the UGC recognized Universities in any one of the school subjects offered by the Directorate of School Education at the Secondary / Higher Secondary Education level.

Candidates must apply for B.Ed. Spl.Ed. CY 2021-23 through Online Application only at official website (www.tnou.ac.in / https://tnouadmissions.in//
Incomplete Applications will be considered defective. No correspondence will be entertained in this respect.
Candidates will have to produce all the Original Certificates at the time of Admission Counselling for verification and at any other time as required by the authorities. Selection will not be made if they do not produce the relevant documents at the time of counseling for verification.

Admission Procedure
  • Admission will be done on the basis of the Score obtained in the Entrance Examination conducted by TNOU.
  • Admission Counseling
  • The admission to the provisionally selected candidates for B.Ed. Special Education and allotment of Learner Support Centres will be made by the University at the time of admission.
  • The B.Ed.Spl.Ed.Admission Counselling Dates along with selection list will be intimated through TNOU website.
  • The candidates should bring the following Original certificates and Photostat copies during the Admission Counselling.
