Alagappa University Distance Education Admission Process – What you need to Know

Alagappa University has announced the details associated with the admission process of its Distance Education programs for the academic session 2014-15.

Interested candidates may seek admission either through an approved study center or directly through the university itself. The list of all approved study centers are documented on the official Alagappa University website: www.alagappauniversity.ac.in.

In the event the candidates chooses to enroll directly with the university, all course materials will be directly sent to them and they will require attending the Contact Classes as well as Examinations at Karaikudi only. However, those who enroll through study centers, will have to collect the study material from their respective study centers (they will also require attending Contact Classes and exams at their study center).

Procedure for direct admission

For direct admission, candidates must attach the following documents with the properly filled-in application:

  • The original entry qualification of HSC or Diploma Certificate or Provisional or Degree Certificate alongside a copy attested by a Gazetted Officer. All original certificates will be promptly returned after the verification process.
  • A Student Index Card with signature and stamp size affixed.
  • Demand Draft must be drawn in favor of the Director, DDE, Alagappa University, payable on any bank at Karaikudi. For more information, check the Annexure – I of the information bulletin.
  • No transfer certificate is needed.

Procedure for admission through approved study centers

If you are planning to proceed through an approved study center, then you must submit the filled-in application form with the following documents:

  • The original entry qualification of HSC or Diploma Certificate or Provisional or Degree Certificate alongside a copy attested by a Gazetted Officer. All original certificates will be promptly returned after the verification process.
  • A Student Index Card with signature and stamp size affixed.
  • The candidates will require drawing two separate Demand Drafts towards Course Fees.
  • While one Demand Draft must be drawn in favor of the Director, DDE, Alagappa University, payable on any bank at Karaikudi towards the university shares, another needs to be drawn in favor of the approved study center through which the candidate seeks admission.
  • No transfer certificate is required.

Candidates are strictly advised not to pay any additional fee in cash to their respective study centers under any circumstances!
