UPSC Combined Defence Services Examination I (CDS Exam I ) 2021 Notification

UPSC CDS I 2021: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the notification for the Combined Defence Services Examination I (CDS Exam I) 2021. UPSC CDS Exam 2021 (I) is held for recruiting candidates for the course conducted by Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers Training Academy. The CDS exam is conducted twice in a year.

Eligibility Criteria for CDS I 2021

  • The candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the CDS I 2021 exam. Candidates should fulfill the eligibility criteria of the UPSC CDS exam at the following levels:

Nationality

A candidate should be:

  • The Citizenship of India, or
  • The subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or
  • Tibetan refugee who had been migrated to India before January 01, 1962 with the intention of Permanent Settle, or
  • An individual of Indian Origin migrated from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Burma, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi, Zambia, Zaire & Vietnam for permanent settle purpose in India.

Age Limit

  • The aspirants can check the age limit of CDS (I) 2021 exam for various posts in Combined Defence Services from the table below:

Physical Standards (CDS Eligibility)

  1. Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Combined Defence Services Exam (I), 2021 as per guidelines are given in Appendix-IV.

How to Apply for CDS I 2021 - Application Process

Candidates can apply online through official website www.upsconline.nic.in from 28th October to 17th November 2020 by following steps:

Go to the official website of UPSC - upsc.gov.in

2.

Click on the link “Exam Notification - Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2021” in What’s New section

3.

Now, go to "Click Here"

4.

A new window will open where you need click on "Click Here for PART I" followed by "Click Here for Part 2: for registration

5.

Enter personal details and detail of any Photo ID Proof - Aadhaar Card/Voter Card/PAN Card/Passport/Driving Licence/Any other Photo ID Card issued by the State/Central Government

6.

Upload a scanned copy of the same Photo ID, Photograph & Signature

7.

Select your examination center

8.

Add Payment details and accept Declaration

9.

Print a copy of the application form for future use

Fee Details

General/ OBC

Rs 200 (No Fee for female/ SC/ ST candidates)

Payment Mode  By depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of SBI, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur/State Bank of Hyderabad/State Bank of Mysore/State Bank of Patiala/State Bank of Travancore or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit Card

Applicants who opt for “Pay by Cash” mode should print the system generated Pay in-slip during Part-I registration and deposit the fee at the counter of SBI Branch on the next working day only.

CDS I 2021 Selection Procedure

  • The candidates will be provided admission to INA, IMA, Air Force Academy, and Officers’ Training Academy through Written Examination, Personality Test and Interview.
  • The candidates will be placed in the order of merit on the basis of the total marks secured by them in the written exam and in the SSB tests
  • The final selection will be made in order of merit subject to medical fitness and suitability in all other respects and the number of vacancies available.

The exam pattern of CDS I 2021 is divided into two sections:

Intelligence & Personality Interview

The exam pattern of CDS 1 Examination is different for Officer Training Academy and Indian Naval Academy/Indian Military Academy/Indian Air Force.

For IMA INA & OTA

The exam of Indian Naval Academy/Indian Military Academy/Indian Air Force comprises 3 papers which carry a total of 300 marks. The total duration of each exam is 2 hours.

CDS I 2021 Admit Card

  • UPSC CDS I 2021 Admit Card will be released at the https://upsconline.nic.in/ site.
  • Applicants can download their CDS admit cards by logging in with their Registration ID & Roll No.
  • Make sure that all the information mentioned on the admit card is correct. If there is any discrepancy, you might not be allowed to appear for the exam.
  • All applicants are required to bring their admit card to the examination center.
  • None of the candidates will be allowed to enter the examination hall without their CDS admit card.
