Eligibility Criteria


  • The applicant must be a citizen of India


  • For admission in to University, University departments and government colleges, the candidate must be domicile of West Bengal
  • Only those candidates will be treated as domicile of West Bengal who are either, a) Residing in West Bengal continuously at least for last 10 years as on 31st December 2016 (or); ((b) Whose parents is/are permanent residents of West Bengal having permanent address within the State of West Bengal

Age: There is no age restriction
Academic Eligibility
Various institutions that offers the three years MCA Course in the State of West Bengal follows one of the four following modules of eligibility criteria

  • Module-I: Candidate must have passed 3-years Bachelor degree program from UGC recognized University with at least 60% in Honours /Aggregate (45% for SC/ST candidates) in Mathematics at the Bachelor's level
  • Module-II: UGC and/or AICTE recognized (as the case may be) Bachelor's degree of minimum 3-years duration except BBA with Mathematics at 10+2 level or graduate level
  • Module-III: Candidate must have Graduate or equivalent degree under (10+2+3) pattern in any discipline of a UGC recognized University/Institute or AICTE recognized B.E/B.Tech./BCA of a University/Institute
  • Module-IV: Candidate should have B.Sc Honour degree under (10+2+3) patter in any discipline of UGC recognized University/Institute with at least 60% marks in Honors/Aggregate (45% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B candidates) along with at least 55% marks in Mathematics


Admit Card

  • Admit Card for each eligible applicant will be available to download as per the schedule; applicant should download the Admit Card any carry it along with him/her to the entrance centre


Examination Zone

  • The examination will be held simultaneously at Kolkata-North, Kolkata-South, , Kolkata-Central,  Howrah, Haldia, Burdwan, Durgapur Bankura, Asanso, Malda, Coochbihar, Kharagpur, Siliguri, Srirampur, Berhampur, and  Kalyani, provided there are sufficient candidates in each Zone

Exam Pattern

  • The test will be Online and consist of two papers namely,
    • Mathematics (100 Marks), two hours and
    • Aptitude test (50 marks), one hour
  • All questions will be Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type. Each question will have four answer options of which only one is correct
  • Correct response will fetch full marks allotted to the question. No response will fetch zero mark. One fourth (1/4) of the full mark will be deducted for incorrect. The questions will be English only



  • In respect of reservation of seats, application acts/rules of the Govt. of West Bengal prevailing at the time of admission will be followed. List of such reserved seats will be available in this portal before counseling

Application process

  • Application has to be filled up online at the portal www.wbjeeb.in
  • Candidate needs to visit the portal and follow the links <EXAMINATION> - <JECA> - <ONLINE APPLICATION>. The form is interactive in nature. There are four steps in application form submission as follows:


Step-1 Registration

  • Candidate has to input name, date of birth, gender, e-mail id and mobile number and password. Candidate must take utmost care to give these inputs. If mistakes are committed there is no chance of correction.
  • The given mobile number and e-mail id will be used for all further communication
  • At the end of this step the candidate may opt to logout or continue to next step. For further log in, candidate has to use his/her application number, date of birth and password.


Step-2 Application Form

  • In this step the candidate has to enter his/her personal and academic information and also two choices of examination centre. The fields mark with (*) are mandatory fields, i.e. mandatory to be filled in


Step-3 Image Upload

  • At this step the candidate has to upload scanned copies of his/her photograph, signature, LTI and Admit Card/Mark sheet of 10th standard as age proof


Step-4 Payment of Applications Fee

  • The Examination Fees can be paid by ‘Net Banking’/ ‘Debit Card’/ ‘Credit Card’.
  • The amount of fees to be paid for appearing in the JECA-2018 is Rs. 500/- (Rupees five hundred only) plus the Bank’s Service Charges as applicable
  • The fee once paid is not refundable under any circumstances.


Step - 5 Confirmation Page

  • On successful completion of all the above steps, candidate shall automatically be directed to the option for downloading the ‘Confirmation Page’ which means that the application is complete.
