University of Calicut Distance Education Admission 2019 - Applications are invited for admission to the 12 Postgraduate Programs under the School of Distance Education, University of Calicut for the academic year 2019-20.

School of Distance Education (SDE)

  1. The School of Distance Education, one of the major departments of the University was established in 1981. Now it is a major education provider in Kerala with an annual enrolment of about 50,000 students

  1. MA - Arabic, Economics, English, Hindi, History, Malayalam, Political Science, Philosophy, Sanskrit, Sociology.
  2. M.Com.

  1. Date of commencement of Online Registration: 03rd June 2019
  2. Last date for registration without fine: 10th July 2019
  3. Last date for registration with a fine of Rs. 100/-: 31st July 2019
  4. Last date for registration with a fine of Rs. 500/-: 10th August 2019
  5. Last date for receipt of printout of application: 14th August 2019

Eligibility Criteria for University of Calicut Distance Education Admission 2019

MA Arabic

  1. Under Mark System: BA Arabic / Afsal-ul-ulama / Double Main with Arabic / BA Functional Arabic Degree with at least 50% marks in Part III or BA/BSc (excluding alternative pattern) Degree with Arabic in Part II with at least 50% marks of this University or equivalent degree. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.
  2. Under Grade System: BA Arabic / Afsal-ul-ulama / Double Main with Arabic (Core) / BA Functional Arabic Degree or BA/BSc (excluding alternative pattern) Degree with Arabic as Common Course of this University or equivalent degree with overall CGPA, at least equivalent to 50%. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

 

MA Economics

  1. Under Mark System: BA Degree of this University with Economics/Foreign Trade/Development Economics (Main) or equivalent degree with at least 45% marks for Part III (excluding subsidiaries). OR BSc Degree of this University with Statistics/Mathematics (Main) or equivalent degree with at least 70% marks for Part III (excluding subsidiaries). OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.
  2. Under Grade System: BA Degree of this University with Economics/Foreign Trade/Development Economics (Main) or equivalent degree with Overall CGPA, at least equivalent to 50%. OR BSc Degree of this University with Statistics/Mathematics (Main) or equivalent degree with equivalent grade to 70%. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

 

MA English

  1. Under Mark System: BA English Lang. & Litt. / BA English & History / BA Functional English with at least 45% marks for English Main papers or BA/BSc (excluding alternative pattern) Degree with at least 45% marks in Part I English, of this University or equivalent degree. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible for relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.
  2. Under Grade System: BA English Lang. & Litt. / BA English & History / BA Functional English or BA/BSc (excluding alternative pattern) Degree with English as Common Course, of this University or equivalent degree with overall CGPA at least equivalent to 50%. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible for relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

 

MA Hindi

  1. Under Mark System: BA Hindi Lang.&Litt. / Functional Hindi /Hindi & History (Main) Degree with at least 45% marks for Part III or BA/BSc (excluding alternative pattern) Degree with Hindi in Part II with at least 45% marks of this University or equivalent degree. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.
  2. Under Grade System: BA Hindi Lang.&Litt. / Functional Hindi /Hindi & History (Core) Degree or BA/BSc (excluding alternative pattern) Degree with Hindi Common Course of this University or equivalent degree. With Overall CGPA, at least equivalent to 50%. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

 

MA History

  1. Any First Degree of this University or equivalent degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade for Part-III excluding subsidiaries. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible for relaxation upto 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

 

MA Malayalam

  1. Under Mark System: BA Malayalam Lang. & Litt. (Main) Degree with at least 45% marks for Part-III or BA/BSc (excluding alternative pattern) Degree with Malayalam in Part-II with at least 45% marks of this University or equivalent degree. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible for relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.
  2. Under Grade System: BA Malayalam Lang. & Litt. (Core) Degree or BA/BSc (excluding alternative pattern) Degree with Malayalam as Common Course of this University or equivalent degree with Overall CGPA, at least equivalent to 50%. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

 

MA Political Science

  1. Under Mark System: BA Degree in Political Science (Main), or any other Degree with at least one main paper (BA Public Administration, BA West Asian Studies) or complementary/subsidiary paper in Political Science with 45% marks. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.
  2. Under Grade System: BA Degree in Political Science (Core), or any other Degree with at least one Core Course in Political Science (BA Public Administration, BA West Asian Studies) or complementary course in Political Science or equivalent degree with Overall CGPA, at least equivalent to 50%. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

 

MA Philosophy

  1. Under Mark System: Any UG Degree of this University or equivalent degree with at least 45% marks for Part-III (excluding subsidiaries). OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.
  2. Under Grade System: Any UG Degree of this University or equivalent degree with Overall CGPA, at least equivalent to 50%. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

 

MA Sanskrit

  1. Under Mark System: BA Sanskrit (Main) Degree with at least 50% marks or BA/BSc (excluding alternative pattern) Degree with Sanskrit in Part II with at least 50% marks of this University or equivalent degree. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.
  2. Under Grade System: BA Sanskrit (Core) Degree or BA/BSc (excluding alternative pattern) Degree with Sanskrit as Common Course of this University or equivalent degree with Overall CGPA, at least equivalent to 50%. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

 

MA Sociology

  1. Under Mark System: Any UG Degree of this University or equivalent degree with at least 45% marks for Part-III (excluding subsidiaries). OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.
  2. Under Grade System: Any UG Degree of this University or equivalent degree with each Core and Complementary Course grade point at least equivalent to 50%. OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

 

M.Com

  1. Any candidate who has passed B.Com or BBA (earlier BBS) degree of University of Calicut or B.Com, BBA, BBM or BBS degree of any other University or Institutions in any States recognised by UGC or AICTE and approved by the University of Calicut with minimum of 45% marks or equivalent grade are eligible for admission. OBC and SC/ST students are eligible for mark/grade relaxation as per the University rules.
  2. In case of B.Com (Honours) students, the minimum eligibility for admission is 50% for all categories of students.

 

M.Sc Mathematics

  1. BSc Degree in Mathematics or an equivalent degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in Core and at least 50% marks or equivalent grade in Part-III (Core and Complementary put together). OBC/OEC candidates are eligible to relaxation up to 5%. SC/ST candidates need only to get a pass.

  3. Tuition Fee for One Year
  4. MA (Arabic, Malayalam, History): Rs. 2760/-
  5. MA (English, Economics, Hindi, Philosophy, Political Science, Sanskrit, Sociology): Rs. 2205/-
  6. M.Com: Rs.2760/-
  7. MSc Mathematics: Rs. 2205/-
  8. Matriculation Fee: Rs. 115/- (for those who are enrolling in Calicut University for the 1st time)
  9. Re-matriculation Fee: Rs. 170/- (for those who have migrated from Calicut University to other Universities)
  10. Recognition Fee: Rs. 115/- (for those who have qualified from Boards/Universities of other states)
  11. Postal charges / Spot admission fee: Rs. 60/-

  1. All the fee should be remitted online only through the Instant Web Payment System available in the University website www.universityofcalicut.info.

University of Calicut Distance Education Admission 2019 Application Process

  1. Students seeking admission shall apply online only.
  2. Online Registration facility for admission is provided through www.sdeuoc.ac.in/OnlineRegistration or through the University website www.uoc.ac.in/ DistanceEducation/OnlineRegistration.
  3. The printout of the application should be sent to - The Director, School of Distance Education, University of Calicut, Calicut University. P.O, Malappuram-673635.
  4. Documents to be submitted along with application for admission
  5. Original challan receipt for the required fee.
  6. Original Transfer Certificate (TC) from the institution last studied.
  7. Original and copies of Qualifying Certificate and Mark lists (Degree or equivalent)
  8. Self-attested copy of SSLC/Equivalent for proof of Age and Date of Birth.
  9. Self-attested copy of Aadhaar.
  10. Those who are eligible for mark relaxation on the basis of caste should submit original community certificate.
