Periyar Maniammai Institute of Science and Technology,Chennai was founded in November 1988 by the Periyar Maniammai Educational and Charitable Trust,Chennai.Thiru. K. Veermani took the initiative of opening the floodgates of golden opportunities in providing technical education to women.
The institute offers graduation and post graduation level courses in engineering and technology. The Research and Development department of the institute is carrying out extensive research in the field of engineering with the cooperation of DRDO,AICTE,HRD. The Institute believes in the philosophy of creating the best quality man power,technology,ambiance,creativity and education.
The University has been accredited by NAAC of UGC recently.
