The full form of MP is Madhya Pradesh. It is a state that lies in the Centremost part of India and is nicknamed ‘Heart of India.’ Bhopal is its capital. Currently, Kamal Nath and Lalji Tandon are the Chief Minister and Governor of the state respectively. The state boasts of having the largest forest cover in the country. The state came into existence on 26 January 1950. It has a Unicameral legislature with 230 legislative seats. It is a place of historic importance and is a popular choice among tourists due to places such as Kanha National Park, Bhimbetka Rock shelters, Khajuraho temples, Great Stupa of Sanchi, etc. The state is rich in mineral resources and has diamond and copper mines.
