Admission to M.C.A. Course 2007

ELIGIBILITY

The candidates should be graduate in any discipline of Madurai Kamaraj University with Mathematics as compulsory subjects at 10+2 level or should have passed the degree examination equivalent to that of Madurai Kamaraj University with Mathematics as compulsory subject at 10+2 level OR any degree with Computer Science/ Applications as Major / Vocational Subjects.

The syllabus content of the subject (i) Business Mathematics & Operational Research (ii) Business Mathematics & Statistics / Numerical Methods and Mathematics at +2 level are different. Hence the student who have studied (i) & (ii) are NOT ELIGIBLE.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE FOR OBTAINING PROSPECTUS AND APPLICATION FORM

The prospectus and the application form can be downloaded from the website http://www.mkuniversity.org from 21.1.2007. Xerox copy of the downloaded application can also be used.

Note : Candidates experiencing problems in downloading the application form, can request for a copy of the prospectus and application form from the Head, Computer Centre, Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai-62 021, by producing a demand draft in favour of Registrar, Madurai Kamaraj University / SBI A/c No. 1 Chalan for Rs.35/- (in person) or Rs.50/- (by post) along with the requisition letter.

The Demand Draft should have been obtained after the date of notification (21.1.2007) and on or before the last date for receipt of filled-in application(14.2.2007).

Note: Cheques, Postal orders, money orders and cash will not be accepted.

ENTRANCE TEST

Applicants seeking admission to M.C.A. course are required to appear for the Entrance Test to be conducted by the Madurai Kamaraj University on 25th March, 2007 (02:00 PM - 03:40 PM) - (Changed from 18th March Announced earlier)in selected cities all over India .

The entrance test will be of objective type for period of 100 minutes. It will have a component of Mathematics at the 10+2 level constituting 30%, a component of logical reasoning / analytical ability at the level of bachelor’s degree constituting 30%, a component of proficiency of English at the level of Bachelor’s degree constituting 10% and a component of introductory knowledge of computers and computer application at introductory level constituting 30%.

Short listed candidates will be invited to appear for a Group Discussion and Personal interview to be conducted in Madurai .
