SINGULAR NOUN DEFINITION

A singular noun names one person, place, thing, or idea.

(एकवचन) जब हम किसी एक व्यक्ति, वास्तु की बात करते हैं

PLURAL NOUN DEFINITION

A plural noun names more than one person, place, thing or idea.

RULES FOR CONVERTING SINGULAR TO PLURAL NOUNS

Regular Plurals

Rule 1. Add ‘s’ at the end of a singular noun to make it plural.

एकवचन संज्ञा शब्द के अंत में ‘s ‘ जोड़ कर बहुवचन बनाएँ

Rule 2. Singular nouns ending in ‘s’, ‘ss’, ‘sh’, ‘ch’, ‘x’, ‘o’ or ‘z’ need an ‘es’ at the end to become plural.

Irregular Plurals

Rule 1. Some nouns are the same in both their singular and plural forms.

Exceptions to Rule 2.

Rule 3. Nouns that end in ‘y‘ preceded by a consonant require that you change the ‘y’ to an ‘i’, and then add an ‘es’ at the end to make them plural.
