The results of the Civil Services (Mains) 2014 exam have been announced by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The list of roll numbers of successful candidates who cracked the examination have been published on the official UPSC website: www.upsc.gov.in.
The personality test of all successful candidates is likely to commence from April 27. The results were declared pending the final decision of a review petition filed in the Supreme Court by the central government seeking to reexamine its recent verdict that denied reservation for the Jat community.
However, the UPSC press release issued on Monday did not mention the Supreme Court case. The SC on March 17 set aside the decision of the previous UPA government to include Jats in central list of OBCs so as to extend quota benefits to the community. On April 1, 2014, the Center had approached the Supreme Court seeking a review of its earlier decision.
The Civil Services (Mains) 2014 were held on December 14, 2014. Conducted in three stages (preliminary , mains and interview), this examination handpicks suitable candidates for Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS) and Indian Police Service (IPS) among others.
