The Union Public Service Commission has announced the results for the Civil Services Examination 2013. The UPSC Civil Services 2013 examination was conducted in December of 2013 and was followed by the recently held interview during April-June of 2014.

As per the release issued by the Ministry of Personnel, the number of candidates who have been recommended for appointment in Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and other central services on the base of the Civil Services 2013 Examination are 1,122.
There are 10 females and 15 males amongst the candidates who made it to the top 25 positions, where in nine of the total were from engineering stream, three from Medical, four from sciences and the rest nine from Commerce, Humanities and other Social Sciences. Five of them made to the merit list in their first attempts, 11 in second attempt, seven in third attempts and two in their fourth attempts.
UPSC Civil Services Examination is conducted in three phases– preliminary, mains and interview. The Civil Services (preliminary) Examination was held on May 26, 2013. A total of 7,76,565 candidates had applied for this examination, out of which only 3,23,949 candidates actually appeared and a staggering amount of 14,959 candidates qualified for appearance in the mains examination.
3,003 were shortlisted from the mains exam which was held in December, 2013 for the personality test which was conducted in April-June of 2014.
