On the occasion of Teacher’s Day, the Times SPARK Scholarship Program for Awareness, Reasoning, and Knowledge, was launched to promote reading among students. This scholarship program is for students from Class 9th to 12th. With this initiative, the organization hopes to create the environment for reading, thus transforming the youth of the nation.
The Read to Lead initiative by the Times of India was welcomed with open arms from students, parents, and teachers. More than 2 lakh students registered for the program across the country. These students are among the best and brightest students across the country. About 40,000 of the registrations were from the Delhi-NCR region. With 17,000 registrations, the next in line were students from Mumbai.

Apart from these urban and metro cities, several students from areas like the Maharashtra’s Naxal affected area, Gadchiroli also registered for the scholarship program. Students from Bhagwantrao High School and Junior College, located in the Bhamragadh region of Gadchiroli, applied for the scholarship after hearing about it from their class teacher.
