The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted the UGC NET (December) 2015 examination on December 27, 2015(Sunday). The UGC NET examination was held in 88 cities and 1344 examination centres across the country under the supervision of senior officers of CBSE. A total of 7, 65,031 candidates had registered for the examination which consists of three papers.
The HRD Ministry made it clear that the non-NET fellowship is not being discontinued. The HRD minister Smriti Irani, who recently met an eight-member delegation comprising of representatives from Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University students union, said that Non-NET fellowship is not being discontinued.In a meeting held on October 7, UGC had resolved to discontinue the scheme of non-National Eligibility Test (NET) fellowship.
The University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to do away with the non-NET fellowship scheme, which is provided to students undertaking research projects. The decision has come as a major blow for student organizations that were fighting to increase the fellowship amount. Students say the scrapping of the scheme will push out poor sections out of higher education.
The results of the UGC-NET Persian paper were declared on September 29. Interestingly, out of the 125 questions in the paper, 94 allegedly had wrong answers. Not a single candidate got qualified in the exam.
